Timeline

1996-1999 BA (Hons) Media Arts, Plymouth University

Awarded a higher second.

1999-2000 Web Design Technician, Plymouth University

Sole web design and development support for 200+ students

2000-2001 Web Engineer, WebSight Ltd.

Front-end web development and, by the time I left, the in-house flash expert including all technical aspects of the award winning spring 2001 outpost website.

2001-2005 Technical Leader, Results International (Online)

The e-learning and multimedia arm of Results International, I developed the company's own e-learning platform, as implemented by BTEC Career Path.

2005 NHS Connecting for Health

Striking out on my own, I was awarded a few months helping the NHS Connecting for Health Web Team migrate a large amount of aging content into a Plone content management system, defining the new structure on the way.

2006-2007 Web Developer, IPC Media

Working as part of a fast growing team I developed large-scale websites using IPC's in-house CMS. Areas included e-commerce, AJAX, accessibility, usability, advertising and one-off site tools (for example a pregnancy due-date calculator!). IPC has a large number of websites, some of the ones I worked on included My Holiday Ideas and a set of 'marketplace' sites of NME, Loaded, and Nuts. During this time I did quite a bit of work with the Symfony PHP Framework on the early stages of the House To Home site.

2007 Senior Lead Developer, BDP Media

Leading a team of up to 20 contractors, I managed all technical aspects of developing and delivering e-learning material.
